Vintage Sewing Needles - Blunts
Vintage Sewing Needles - Blunts
We found these sewing needles when we were cleaning out the warehouse and we thought; "They're so nicely wrapped! We'll have to get them out to the store."
"Blunts" as the name implies, have a blunt tip. They have this to make it easier to sew between the fibers in selected fabrics, as it can weaken knitwear and jersey, and make it easier for holes to form in a seam. Their needle eyes are intended for sewing thread and are therefore not ideal for use with embroidery thread. However, you can always try!
We only have "Blunts" in one size, No. 8.
Because we do not know where they were originally bought from or how long they have been with us, we cannot guarantee that we will get them again or can find the sizes we do not currently have in stock. So if you want to be sure to own a pair of these, make sure to get them before they are sold out!
When it comes to needles, remember that the larger the number, the thinner the needle. And vice versa, the smaller the number, the thicker. A size 10 needle, for example, is one of the finest needles we have, while a size 0 is usually thick and strong.
